Inside SDA: Dog Friendly since 1991
Meet Trixie, Molly, Maddie and Murphy. According to some recent studies, they reduce stress in the workplace, improve morale, make employees willing to work longer hours and even take on a longer commute. Who are they, our new HR department? Company yoga instructors? Our therapists?
Nope; they're our dogs and they've been "punching in" each day with the rest of us since SDA opened. We think the studies are right: dogs make the workplace better and Smith-Dahmer Associates wouldn't be the same without the faint jingling of collars, dog toys in the conference room and the occasional bark.
Studies or no studies, anyone will tell you that when the numbers aren't making sense or the words aren't coming, there's nothing like getting down on your hands and knees and rubbing a colleague's furry belly until their leg goes wild (everyone is clear we're still talking about the dogs here, right?).
So if you come by one of the offices and are greeted by a legion of canines, or hear a bark on a conference call, rest assured it's our morale-boosting, stress-reducing, bring-your-dog-to-work program.
