Spring Meeting

Each spring, Smith-Dahmer Associates gathers in St. Joseph, Michigan for an all-day, off-site meeting. We go over financials, look at last year’s goals relative to this year’s progress and highlight any milestones. Then we get to work.

During the second half of the annual meeting, we break into groups and attack the different issues that nagged us over the previous year. So far we’ve done things like hammer out a new hiring process, address the pain points in some of our current processes and solidify some new ones.

This year’s meeting was planned by a group of SDA team members and—among other topics—focused on growth and the company’s culture. The day culminated in a company dinner at the Ideal Place in Benton Harbor.

While we continue to grow rapidly, our hope is that SDA remains small enough—not in numbers, but in design—to give every employee not only the opportunity, but the responsibility of shaping the place they work.
